Our family is full of fantastic cooks, and foodies in general. But right now, let me tell you about PawPaw Ralph. Ralph Hutchins caters. He can cook large quantities of just about anything, but barbecue is his specialty. Since we're right on the border of North Carolina and Southern Virginia, this barbecue is a bit unique. It really doesn't fit in preconceive notions. Lightly sauced with his own concoction, his cooking talents shine.
Now I’ll admit to having been a bit spoiled when it comes to growing up with good barbecue. But watching the care Ralph puts into the grill time, the chop time, and the serve time shows you what a real artist at work looks like.
Here, I took his really good barbecue and topped it with a dollop of Cream Cheese and Black Pepper Pimento Cheese. That real good barbecue and the cracked black pepper with all that cheesy goodness, just blows your mind. Give it a try, sometime.
